The Crooked Path

A Music Sanctuary at the center of Los Olivos (2885 Grand Ave)

It is about the music.

The Crooked Path is the home of Karen Seeley – open occasionally during spring, summer and fall on Saturdays and Sundays for music performances by local bands and artists.  There is usually no charge to enter, stay, exhale or listen – but since we rely on tips and donations to keep the music going, kindly support us when you can.

Visitors are free to bring food and drink for themselves. Four-leggeds and/or children on leash are also welome.

More about The Crooked Path:

Walk-in during Weekends

The Crooked Path is the home & Music Sanctuary of Karen Sealey and a place of renewal and inspiration. It is not a business, not a shop, not a winemaker, nor seller of time-shares.  We offer a peaceful setting on occasion and extraordinary music performed by gifted performers.

For 15 years we were open to the public on weekends hosted by Bent Myggen, Danish singer/songwriter and suppored by Linda Hance and Karen Seeley.  We had many, many great gatherings and performances by local bands, players and house-band “The Visionears” (Grace Feldmann/Drums, Ronn Cobb/Keyboards-Hamond B3, Luke Sunquist/Guitar, Kurt Kummerfelt, Bass, Yves Bajulaz/Sax – and Bent Myggen).  Hear the live recordings here or see videos (above) on this page. During Covid we stubbornly kept open (outdoors), but today and for the time being we are only open on occasion or for private events – see our FaceBook for notices of performances.

Original Music:

Bands and performers coming to The Crooked Path play R&B, Reggae, Indie-Rock, Rock, Americana, Blues – all in all beautiful music.

Kids & Dogs

The Crooked Path welcomes guests with young humans and four-legged beings. At times things have gotten a little out of hand with dog-derbies, so we ask to keep yours leashed.  Kids listening, dancing is fine, while running wild is much better in the park next door.

Contributions

Music is a gift, but contributions make the music possible. The Crooked Path is a sanctuary and does not sell anything.  Instead, we are grateful when our guests leave offerings in the contribution-boxes (or Venmo).

From Bent Myggen:

Music has been part every tribe, religion and civilization in all of human history. Today the sound of music (recorded music) is everywhere, but the spirit of music only exists when the music is live. Music connects and heals us all – and the more we are that listen, the greater is the music.
